Last week we started carpentry work in a new Subway project in Faribault. This is right next to the Starbucks Coffee we constructed last year.

This is a nice stand alone building for the Subway operator. Like most new Subway's it will have a drive-up window....something that the present Subway in Faribault does not have.

Work is moving along well. We should have the roof installed in short order.

This past weekend was the
Defeat of Jesse James Days celebration in Northfield. There were many activities for people to either participate in or observe. We had a tractor pull, classic car show, craft fair, art show, running race, bike tour, etc. Thousands of people come to town for this annual event.
My main task for the event is to assist with my
Rotary Club bike tour. We have been operating a Jesse James Days Rotary Bike Tour for several years and it just keeps getting better and better. We had about 1,100 riders this year in spite of cool and windy weather.

My first task was to install the start/finish line banner using construction equipment. I had good helpers and we got it installed in short order.

Next up was inflating the giant toys for the children to play in before and after the bike tour. This took some doing to get electrical power to them, get them unloaded, inflated, then deflated and loaded again.

We had some of the James Gang riders stop by for a visit. They do reenactments of the 1876 James Gang raid on the First National Bank of Northfield.
The bike tour has aid stations for food and water, as well as 'sag' drivers to pick up people that are having trouble. We also have a great motorcycle club that escorts the tour and helps out crossings at busy intersections.

This is a great event. If you like to bike think about coming to Northfield for next years event. Who knows....maybe you will like it so much you will move to Northfield!
